The Tricycle Owners Association of Nigeria (TOAN) has been banned by Anambra  State Government from operating in the state. Following a statement made by the commissioner for transport, Mr Uchenna Okafor, he said the ban became necessary following ceaseless negative reports over activities of the association in the state. “TOAN is strange to Anambra State Government, the group operate in disguise and in very negative circumstances. No union can exist without the consent of the government,’’ he added. The security agencies in the state were urged by the commissioner to ensure that TOAN and any other such unknown groups operating under the name ceased to exist in the state. He warned that any person or group operating on the guise of tricycle operators would be dealt with.

The Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) church is no longer a member of the Christian Association Of Nigeria family (CAN) family following the rape allegation levelled against its Senior Pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo. In press statement signed by National Legal and Public Affairs, CAN, Evang Barr Kwamkur, Samuel Vondip, the body condemned the act and admonished pastors in the country to distance themselves from rape and any act of infidelity. CAN is deeply concerned about the ongoing rape allegation saga arising from a confessional statement by a former female member of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Mrs. Bisola Dakolo, against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, the senior pastor of COZA. A man identified as Mr. Samuel Chidi, a graduate of Law from Ebonyi State University, Abakiliki, has been accused of ‘deliberate criminal negligence’ towards his wife, Igbere TV reports. According to a social media user who shared the story with Igbere TV, Chidi, a resident of Diamond Point Junction, Chinedu Ogah Avenue, Abakaliki, had watched his wife who had previously delivered twice though caesarean section, battle with labour pains in their room and bled to death. “Chidi could have easily contacted a Nurse who was also living in the same compound but instead left the poor woman locked up in the room with a patent medicine dealer who, to make matters worse, administered improper injections, dragged out the baby to the ground while the husband pinned her legs down, collected the blood, the baby's placenta and hid in his room while leaving the agonizing mother to bleed till death," our source alleged.
